about the speaker
Heloisa Passos is a producer, director and award-winning cinematographer. She photographed more than 40 films among feature and short films and TV shows. As a cinematographer, she was awarded at Rio Film Festival 2009 and 2016, at Gramado Film Festival 2002 and 2008, at Sundance Film Festival 2007, and others. She is the director of the award-winning short film Viva Volta, Great Award of Canal Brasil 2007 and Best Director at Cine Ceará. She is the only Brazilian woman with two shorts on the Field of Vision / The Intercept platform. She is a member of the Brazilian Society of Cinematographers and the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Building Bridges, her first feature as a director, premiered internationally at IDFA, 2017, received the Marco Antônio Guimarães award at the 50th Brazilian Film Festival of Brasilia and Cora Coralina Award as Best Feature Film at the 20th International Environmental Film Festival.
